2013 The year of emerald & how I'll be rocking green

Right my little Totos. 2013 is the year of the green. Follow me to the Emerald City where I will be the queen! No seriously Tangerine was Pantone's Colour of the Year 2012 and boy did I work orange. Loved it , still do.

But onwards and upwards. It could be the die hard Paddy Irish in me or my obsession over THAT Atonement dress but I'm declaring here and now ahead of the curve - 2013 the year I will rock green!

Here's how

1. Lower Liner ala Leona Lewis.
Also seen executed on models by Pat McGrath at Stella McCartney's Spring/Summer 2013. Emerald green liner on the lower lashline against an otherwise clean make-up base. Great way to smoke up an eye but still stay bright in summer. Need this Jane Iredale Mystikol liner in Aquamarine to perfect it. Green eyes coming my way.

2. Green by label, green by nature natural based prodz I already heart muchly
Some of my favs - no doubt they will make a guest appearance again in my bathroom in 2013. Yes to Carrots Calming Shower Gel, fresh and cool for summer and great value at $12.95 for 500ml, Lush Avobath Ballistic - THE summer bath bomb, lemongrassy and zingy, great after a long, hot day in the office, Dr Bronner Liquid Castile Soap - almond - eerrr hello Mr Marzipan in my shower, Endota Green Tea & Pea Eye Cream, cooling, light and packed with protective anti-oxidants. Need some now on my tired eyes...

3. Green Leather (or faux) accessories
I've always loved dark green leather, its so much more interesting than black. Am so glad to see it coming back.(I do recall it had a moment in the early noughties) These ASOS offerings are hawt. Need one in my life. The leather studded one is a steal at $127.50 and a good size (stylish for nappies perhaps?) and the faux leather Hobo could is a slouchy biut quirky everyday number.Oh ASOS you will be the death of me.

4. Moody, muddy green nails
This is how I think green is wearable on nails (not this). Still chic as modeled by Karlie Kloss (my new style muse BTW since she got her bob). My friend recently got engaged to her girlfriend and rocked this earthy green shellac mani with her alternative bling ring. It was so hot I've been left lusting for something similar but you know I don't really do gels so this Illamasqua Nail Varnish number in Rampage will fill the brief perfectly.

5. Blingy Green Bling
Oh how I do love emerald or jade or green onyx style jewelry. It somehow transports me straight back to Ubud,Bali on my honeymoon where there is the most amazing jewellery at every turn. Worn with a monochrome outfit of all black or all white, a shock of green bling just rocks sexy out and adds a slightly bohemian edge. Particularly perhaps with the liner mentioned in No1. (Earrings are Etsy, ring is ASOS, bangle was just a drool I spotted on Pinterest - by the way have you caught the Pinterest bug yet? Come play)

6, Going Green in '13
While I do try to be green and conscious I think I can give it even more of a whack next year. A hell of a lot of plastic waste still goes through my household. I scolded myself the other day for using ziplock bags to bring nuts and seeds to work when I should have brought a container and you should see the excess plastic bag waste that comes with my Woolies online foodshop.... I am however going to use cutesy Modern Cloth Nappies for bubbie ... no landfill coming from their pampered bottom. Right- I've just decided I am going to do some more green related posts in 2013 , you heard it here. Need to live the values for this poster girl image for Green Lifestyle mag , really now don't I!! Heeeeeheee!
